Mission and Faith Statement

Mission Statement

Cornerstone Christian Preparatory Academy's mission is equipping students through Biblical Discipleship and Authentic Education for life and work in the real world.

Statement of Faith

The basis of the corporation shall be the Word of God interpreted by the following statement of faith:

*We believe that the Bible, made up 66 books, is verbally inspired and free from error in doctrine, fact and ethics (i.e. inerrant ), is the Word of God, and the only infallible and authoritative rule of faith and practice.

*We believe in one Triune God, eternally existent in three co-equal persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

*We believe in the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal, physical return in the air for all believers and a personal physical return in power and great glory.

*We believe that man was created in the image of God, but that through sin, he brought upon himself and his posterity not only physical death, but also spiritual death which is separation from God; that all human beings by physical birth possess a sinful nature and are therefore actual sinners in thought, word, and deed; and that man, as such is condemned to hell and utterly unable to remedy his lost condition by himself or by ecclesiastical rite.

*We believe that the salvation of lost and sinful man is a free gift of God’s grace apart from works, based solely upon Christ’s vicarious and atoning death, effected by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit, and received by trusting in Christ’s finished work on the cross.

*We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

*We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost – they that are saved to the resurrection of life and they that are lost to the resurrection of damnation.

*We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Statement of Faith Regarding Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality

*We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male and female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. (Gen 1:26-27) Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.

*We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. (Gen 2:18-25) We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. (1 Cor 6:18; 7:2-5; Heb 13:4) We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.

*We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sin and is offensive to God. (Matt 15:18-20; 1 Cor 6:9-10)

*We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of Cornerstone Prep as a Biblical discipleship model Christian school and to provide a biblical role model to Cornerstone Prep’s students, families, and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by Cornerstone Prep in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, agree to abide by this Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality. (Matt 5:16; Phil 2:14-16; 1 Thess 5:22)

*We believe that God offers redemption, restoration, and eternal life to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. (Acts 3:19-21; Rom 10:9-10; 1 Cor 6:9-11)

*We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31) Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the teachings of Cornerstone Prep.

SUPPORTING SCRIPTURES

*Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

*Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Tim 3:16-17

*And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children. Deuteronomy 6:6-7

*In (Christ) are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Colossians 2:3

*Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12

*You have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. Colossians 2:6-7

*And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love. Ephesians 4:11-16 NASB

*“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 NASB
